Full disclosure: I have been a Michael Jackson fan since I was a kid. “Michael” is the biographical film about him. It starts in 1966 when the Jackson 5 were getting started through his Bad tour. The star of the film is Michael Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson and he is excellent in this role. Colman Domingo, who plays his domineering father Jospeh, is also excellent as is Nia Long as his mother. The critics have not been kind to this film, but audiences have loved it. These are the same reactions that “Bohemian Rhapsody” received. Like that movie the best part is the music. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend this film. You will leave the theater humming the music.
